MUTABLE LINES

MUTABLE LINES:

THE MUTABILIS PRESS CHAPBOOK SERIES

Mutabilis Press introduces the Mutable Lines Chapbook Series as an extension of its commitment to publishing thoughtful, high-quality poetry. The series complements our anthology work by creating space for individual voices to emerge with greater focus and depth.

Mutable Lines reflects the many lines that shape both poetry and lived experience: lines of language, lines of connection, and the subtle through-lines that carry meaning across time and place. The series brings forward both new and established poets whose work engages transformation with clarity, precision, and resonance.

Over time, the series will grow to include multiple authors, each contributing a distinct voice to an evolving conversation within the Mutabilis Press community.

A Bird From Ukraine

By Elina Petrova

A Bird From Ukraine is the inaugural title in the Mutable Lines Chapbook Series and the first-place winner of the Mutable Lines Chapbook Series Contest.

In this collection, Elina Petrova writes with striking immediacy across memory, war, and migration, moving between her early life in Ukraine and her present home in Houston. Her poems hold both the grit of lived experience and moments of quiet beauty, tracing the lines that connect place, language, and identity.

As the opening volume in the series, A Bird From Ukraine sets the tone for Mutable Lines: work that engages transformation not as abstraction, but as lived reality.
